The Use of High Tech Instruments and Technologies in Sports

Industrial companies are not the only ones that are vaulting up these days when it comes to instruments and machinery. For even the sports industry is also in the move to provide sports professionals with better tools.

One notable innovation in the sector is the application of biomechanical analysis in various sports activities to measure movements. The technology enables the expert to get an insight on how athletes are exposed to injuries and how they can be prevented. Another remarkable development in the sports industry is the creation of the said smart sports clothes, which are made using materials with higher levels of functions and smartness. These advanced clothing can sense and react to environmental stimuli, enabling them to help athletes adjust to any playing condition.

Beside these two examples given, there are many more high-tech innovations that are worthy to mention. Sports watches that can measure heart rate, shoes that offer extra sole protection, and goggles that can deflect ultraviolet rays are just a few.

All of them have enabled today's athletes to constantly break the limits of what was once impossible to achieve. Even in sports areas which can be considered as low tech like pole vaulting, athletes have benefited from high technology. About forty years ago, the pole used in the game was an ordinary bamboo shaft, which stood at only 15 feet. But today, vaulting poles are made of carbon composite and are custom built to individual's weight, speed and grip. The invention of these poles has allowed vaulters to clear more than twenty feet. Such improvement is just an evidence of how improved technology can boost sports professionals' performance, enabling them to break record after record.
